ADA recommended standards for people with Diabetes
Alcohol Consumption:
The same precautions apply to someone with Diabetes that would
apply to someone without. If an individual chooses to use alcohol or
alcohol containing beverages, these should be limited to moderate
amounts (less than one drink per day for an adult woman and less
than two drinks per day for an adult male). One alcohol containing
beverage is defined as 12oz beer, 5oz wine, or 1.5oz distilled spirits.

Reduced Calorie Sweetners:
The FDA has approved five nonnutritive sweetners for use in the U.S.
* Acesulfame potassium
* Aspartame
* Neotame
* Saccharin
* Sucralose
All have undergone rigorous scrutiny and have been shown to be safe
when consumed by the public, including people with Diabetes.
